Our passion becomes reality
OISA 1937 is a company in constant evolution, placing its historic know-how and production insights at the service of Italian watchmaking
Domenico Morezzi, born in 1897, qualified as a master watchmaker at the Technicum in Bienne, Switzerland. After 20 years at Swiss manufactures, in 1937 he founded OISA (Orologeria Italiana Società Azionaria, the Italian Watchmaking Company) in Milan, specialising in patented mechanical movements. During the war the company was temporarily relocated outside the city, before settling permanently at Corso Como 10 in 1955. It reached monthly production of 10,000 movements and more than 4 million watches sold. After Morezzi’s death in 1968, OISA operated until the end of the 1970s, closing with the advent of quartz technology.
Today OISA becomes OISA1937
ManufactureThanks to the collaboration of industrial and financial partners, including Benedetto Perrotta, the current CEO of OISA 1937.
The technical consultant is Fausto Berizzi, who brings over 30 years of experience gained at companies such as Frédéric Piguet, Hublot (for which he developed the first in-house calibre) and Vaucher, the movement manufacture of the Sandoz Foundation, which is closely linked to Parmigiani Fleurier. At Sandoz, Berizzi also collaborated with Atokalpa, specialising in the production of hairsprings and balance wheels.
Today OISA 1937 operates from premises of approximately 500 square metres, with a production capacity of around 2,500 movements per year and the long-term objective of 10,000, focusing on calibres that symbolise Made in Italy and are characterised by high quality, precision and reliability.
